Mixed Reaction In 2026 As Umafikizolo’s Uyoncengwa unyoko Bags Ukhozi FM 2025 Song Of The Year Award [See Full List]
There has been a mixed reaction across social media following the announcement of Umafikizolo’s Uyoncengwa unyoko track as the song of the year 2025.
Ukhozi FM has certainly become a household name in the South African entertainment industry and is currently one of the biggest radio stations in SA. The radio station on January 1, 2026, released the list of songs that made it to the top 10 of Ukhozi FM, with Uyoncengwa unyoko song by Umafikizolo coming out as the track with the most voted.
Bengicela by MaWhoo featuring GL_Ceejay, Thukuthela, and Jazzworld stayed put at the number two spot. DJ Tira’s Awungazi and Uyena by SJava are pitched at number 3 and number spot.
But following the announcement yesterday, a few Mzanzi fans weren’t happy about the result and questioned the voting system.
An anonymous X user reacting to the outcome wrote, “It’s been like that for many years, they already have their song of the year, and other lists voting doesn’t count on Ukhozi.”
