Celebrity influencer and DJ Cyan Boujee has become another topic of debate as controversies trail following a fresh allegations related to a missed paid performance.

She is been accused of failing to show up to a paid gig in Northern Cape despite been allegedly reported to have received full payment. Reports coming from a reliable sources, MDNnewss on X on 28 December 2025 described the situation as disappointing and unprofessional, according the source Cyan Boujee was booked to perform at the Katchane Lifestyle & KANAAN Pool Party, which took place on 27 December, but did not pitch for the event.

Honour Zuma, according to Event organisers was duly paid a booking fee of R28,000 and was listed as one of the main headliners on the festive-season lineup. They further allege that flights and accommodation were arranged and that her attendance had been confirmed ahead of the event.

However, organisers say that on the day of the show, all attempts to reach Cyan Boujee and her management team proved abortive Her absence reportedly left both organisers and ticket holders disappointed, prompting Katchane Lifestyle & KANAAN to issue a public apology to attendees who had purchased tickets expecting to see her perform.

Following the incident, the organisers indicated that they intend to pursue legal action against the star and her team, accusing them of disappearing after receiving payment.
“We will be dealing legally with Cyan Boujee and her team, as this basically means they stole and ran off with our money,” the organisers were quoted as saying.

The latest allegation comes amid heightened scrutiny surrounding the influencer. Earlier this year, authorities reportedly investigated a promotional video previously shared by Cyan Boujee, which has since been removed from her social media accounts. In the video, filmed in Tatarstan, Russia, she promoted what she described as a two-year “start programme” for young women at the beginning of their professional careers.

In the clip, viewers were shown accommodation where recruits would allegedly stay, while Boujee described the programme as offering a “fresh new start,” claiming participants would receive jobs and be taught how to speak Russian. The video sparked debate online, particularly given her large following of approximately 1.7 million TikTok users.

The controversy surrounding Cyan Boujee has also reignited broader conversations about accountability in the entertainment industry, especially regarding artists failing to honour paid bookings.

Earlier this month, social media was abuzz after Amapiano heavyweight Kelvin Momo failed to appear at the OR Tambo Homage Concert held in Mbizana, Eastern Cape. The disappointment was attributed to a series of flight delays that prevented the artist from reaching the venue on time.

The concert, organised to honour iconic anti-apartheid leader Oliver Tambo and late DJ Volo Da Saint, went ahead without Kelvin Momo, slightly dampening an event intended to blend musical celebration with historical significance.

Kelvin Momo later released a statement explaining that unforeseen traffic delays caused him to miss his initial flight, and although a second flight was arranged, further delays made it impossible for him to arrive in time.

Together, these incidents have intensified public debate around professionalism, reliability, and trust within South Africa’s entertainment scene, as fans and organisers increasingly call for greater accountability from high-profile performers.
