Lasizwe Dambuza Comes Home After Rehab, Fans React Across Social Media

Popular South African YouTuber, comedian and influencer Lasizwe Dambuza has returned home after spending several weeks at a mental wellness retreat, following a period marked by burnout and depression.

Confirming the news on Monday 29 December 2025, The social media star surprised fans when he shared the update of his return on his X (formerly Twitter) account, he excitedly said he was finally back home after checking himself into a wellness facility earlier this month.

Prior to his admission, He openly spoke about his mental health struggles, revealing that the year had taken a significant toll on him emotionally.

“This year has been mentally challenging. I’m burnt out. I’m depressed,” he shared in a candid social media post after arriving at the facility.

During his stay, the 27-year-old handed over control of his social media accounts to his management team, explaining that he would be completely offline and unreachable for a few weeks — including over the festive season — as part of his recovery process.

Speaking to Independent Media at the time, Lasizwe said he had made the difficult decision to step back in order to reset.

“This festive season, I am out. I am going to regenerate, get back my energy so that in January I can kill it like I killed it this year.”

While fans were initially concerned by his sudden disappearance, his latest update confirming his return was met with an outpouring of relief and support across social media platforms.

This is not the first time the influencer has prioritized his mental health. In December 2024, Lasizwe similarly checked into a wellness retreat, with family and close friends confirming that he had taken time away from the public eye to focus on his emotional well-being.

Despite these personal challenges, 2025 has been a landmark year for Lasizwe’s career. The content creator recently celebrated reaching 900,000 subscribers on YouTube, a major milestone that reflects his continued dominance in South Africa’s digital entertainment space.

Marking the achievement, The  entertainer shared a heartfelt message thanking his supporters, adding his signature humor by reposting some of his older skits that helped build his loyal fanbase.

Looking ahead, the influencer has also shared his long-term aspirations, revealing that becoming a father is high on his list of goals for 2026.
