DJ Maphorisa has ignited another spark of social media frenzy just after showing off his latest new whip an addition to his ever-growing luxury car collection.

The popular SA sensational dj whose Real name is Phori took time on Monday, 29 December 2025 through his Instagram handle to share a clip of himself unboxing a classic new ride a move that quickly caught the attention of his fans across the country. The clip went viral and had many gushing and admiring the artist’s unique taste for luxury. Maphorisa as we all know has been among many  SA list of consistent celebrities  that has over the years  showed their  unique taste and love for iconic brands of expensive items.

This is not the first time, Maphorisa has share this unique glimpse of his luxury garage to his fans, been a person who is well known for his love of high-end vehicles and luxury items, often showcases his collection on social media. His continued investment in the Gusheshe has further cemented his reputation as one of the most stylish and financially successful figures in the local music industry.

According to automotive enthusiasts, the ride holds legendary status in South Africa. Officially known as the BMW 325iS, the vehicle was locally developed and produced in limited numbers for homologation racing during the late 1980s. Its rich local history has played a major role in driving up its value over the years.

Prices for Gusheshe models vary significantly depending on condition and originality. Replicas or vehicles requiring extensive restoration can be found for between R30,000 and R100,000, while well-maintained, roadworthy examples typically range from R400,000 to R900,000. Rare, low-mileage and fully original models have fetched impressive prices at auction, with some selling for R1.5 million to over R3 million. In recent years, one 333i model reportedly sold for R1.255 million, while another pristine 325iS fetched R900,000.

Following DJ Maphorisa’s post, Mzansi flooded the comment section with reactions. Some fans jokingly questioned how many Gusheshes the star plans to own, while others praised his appreciation for the difference between standard models and the iconic Gushi.
“Aii, shame, you’re really collecting all the Gusheshes in this country,” one user commented, while another added, “Very few know the difference between a 325i and a Gushi. Dankie.”

The luxury flex comes just weeks after DJ Maphorisa made headlines for showcasing his lavish lifestyle while travelling. In a separate Instagram post, the producer turned heads not only with his signature dance moves and fashion sense, but also with a bespoke Goyard luggage set reportedly worth around R400,000. The designer collection included a Cisalpin backpack valued at R59,000 and a Bourget PM trolley priced at approximately R167,577.
