Is Nigerian Tiktoker, Peller A Billionaire ? – American Rapper DDG Reveals
American rapper and popular online streamer Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., professionally known as DDG, has sparked intense online debate after nearly revealing the alleged net worth of Nigerian streamer and TikTok sensation Peller during a recent livestream.
The moment occurred during a live session featuring DDG, Nigerian content creator Carterefe, and Peller himself. What began as a casual conversation about streaming and entertainment earnings quickly turned tense when DDG started discussing how much top streamers actually make.
DDG, who launched his music career in 2016 and rose to fame with his 2017 hit “Givenchy, explained that his real financial breakthrough came from content creation. Having experienced both industries, the 28-year-old argued that streaming is significantly more profitable than music, insisting that top streamers often out-earn mainstream artistes.
“Streaming pays more than music. For real, streamers make more money than artistes,” DDG stated confidently during the livestream.
As DDG spoke about wealth and financial milestones, Peller appeared visibly uncomfortable. In a viral clip now circulating on X, Peller could be heard urging DDG to stop discussing such details publicly, especially after DDG mentioned being close to billionaire status. His reasons stem from the fact that Peller is on Kicks and has a Stake deal, probably worth millions of Dollars and Peller kept on saying in Nigeria we pay tax, probably he was trying to shun him from saying his networth publicly to avoid paying tax. Lol!!
Peller responded sharply by saying he had “been there before,” claiming he once reached billionaire levels before dropping back to millionaire status. His reaction fueled speculation among social media users, with many suggesting he was trying to avoid unwanted attention—or potential tax scrutiny.
The exchange immediately ignited conversations online, with netizens debating whether the Nigerian entertainer could indeed be worth over one billion naira, and whether Nigeria’s streaming economy offers safer and more sustainable wealth compared to the United States.
Adding to the discussion, DDG also shared his thoughts on safety, claiming that the United States is more dangerous than Nigeria due to gun violence and gang activity.
“I honestly think America is the most dangerous country,” he said. “Nigeria has insecurity, yes, but gun violence and gangsterism are not as common. If anyone is thinking about coming to Nigeria—pull up.”
The livestream has since gone viral, reigniting debates around streaming wealth, financial transparency, and the rising power of Nigeria’s digital creator economy.
